- Each page of the report is formatted as a Word table, with each figure and text item in a separate cell in the table
- A Word template is used to attach a style to each cell, and the user can alter the template (and save it) in order to specify different fonts, colours etc for each style
- MERLIN to Word can be used to process reports generated by either MERLIN or MERLINPLUS
